Cleans:
Efficiency meets Excellence
Air polishing is the key to minimally invasive plaque and stain removal. It is the preferred choice over traditional cleaning methods as it is:...
• Far more effective and efficient at removing stains and biofilm, especially in hard to clean pits and fissures, under bridges and around orthodontic brackets. Achieve brighter smiles faster with shortened appointment times!
• The extremely small particle size and low hardness gives it a very low abrasion level. It does not damage dentine or the surrounding soft tissue - unlike ultrasonic tips and hand scalers.
• By removing the soft deposits and staining first, air polishing minimises the need for more damaging and uncomfortable ultrasonic/hand scaling. The clinician has clear vision and locally targets any remaining calculus rather than scaling all surfaces. The overall result is improved patient comfort and less iatrogenic damage to the tooth surface.
• Improved patient comfort with heated water. There is less patient anxiety as air polishing cleans without vibration, heat generation or the unpleasant sound of handpieces/ultrasonic scaling/hand scaling.
• Less operator fatigue - there is much less strain on the operator wrist as there is no need to apply pressure on dozens of angled surfaces like there is with a rubber polishing cup.
• The most recommended way to clean implants as it does not roughen the implant surface. This also applies to cleaning restorations and appliances!
Periodontal Treatment
Switch to subgingival handpiece with disposable tips for treatment of residual periodontal pockets. The erythritol + 0.3% CHX powder is ideal as it does not damage the subgingival tissue, completely dissolves so that no irritants remain and suppresses biofilm reformation.
The tips have premarked lines for depth gauging.
Specially Designed Tips
• The PT-B also has purpose-made anatomical tips to ensure that you can access all areas of the mouth regardless of probing depth
• Our diverse tip range includes titanium coated ultrasonic tips which are less damaging to dentine as they are softer than stainless steel. The softness also increases patient comfort.
• Diamond coated, long shank tips can be used to smooth overhangs and root abnormalities improving the cleansibility of the local environment.
Implant Maintenance
Air polishing is the best way to clean implants as well as manage peri-implantitis
• The extremely low abrasiveness of the powder means that you can clean your polished titanium/porcelain without fear of roughening the surface
• The subgingival powders dissolve completely leave no residue, unlike prophy polish which can have remnant particles that cause irritation
• Easy and quick to use
• For peri-implantitis we recommend the rotatable subgingival air polishing nozzles which allow you to remove the biofilm without damage to your implant or tissues. This creates a clean environment which is conducive to regeneration!
Specially designed PEEK ultrasonic tips allow you to clean calcified deposits off implant surfaces without scratching the titanium.
Different powders for different uses.
Erythritol + CHX powder is not only the least abrasive powder on the market at a particle size of only 14 microns, but it also has positive influence on the bacteria links to periodontal disease and decay.
Erythritol is a natural, non-caloric sweetener that is anticariogenic. Cariogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans cannot metabolise erythritol and do not survive well in its presence. The addition of 0.3% chlorhexidine furthers erythritol’s inhibitory effects on biofilm due to its anti-adherence and antimicrobial properties.
It dissolves completely in water so is safe for the environment and your pipes!
Patient Education
Disclose your patients with confidence knowing you can clean it all off within a few minutes!
Showing your patients the plaque is invaluable for patient education and understanding. It gets them on board with the goal of biofilm removal - seeing is believing! Without air polishing, many clinicians may be hesitant to disclose as it is very hard to remove it all from restorative margins/brackets/grooves and soft tissue. Air polishing is a game changer in improving oral hygiene instruction.
Bonding
Correct surface preparation for Adhesive Dentistry
• You cannot effectively bond to a surface that isn't clean. Sodium Bicarbonate powder is extremely efficient at removing all biofilm from the area prior to commencing any adhesive dentistry. Removing biofilm improves the bond strength and reduces marginal staining. Use for all fillings, veneers and crowns.
• Clean as well as increase enamel roughness prior to bonding orthodontic brackets or invisalign buttons! Reduce re-doing your work by improving bond strength - all within seconds!
• Fissure Sealants are often not ideally sealed due to inadequate cleaning of the grooves and the surrounding enamel, leading to staining of the margins. Air polishing makes this task a breeze - use sodium bicarbonate to completely remove biofilm from the fissures prior to etching!
• Sodium Bicarbonate is extremely effective at helping to remove temporary cements and making sure the area is debris free.
Endodontics
Safe access preparation
Use special diamond coated ultrasonic tips to find canal orifices in calcified pulp chambers. This gentle method greatly decreases the chance of perforation.
Use ultrasonics to remove cavity
Activate your irrigant with endodontic ultrasonics
Irrigation activation ultrasonic tips are very thin, long and non-engaging. Passively placed into the canal, they send ultrasonic vibration through the irrigant, increasing effectiveness.
Air polish to remove excess obturation cement
Sodium bicarbonate air polishing very quickly cleans your pulp chamber after obturation without removing any more tooth structure. This gives you a clean surface before restoring.
